A while ago we tried to install new meters at your property. Unfortunately, we were unable to do so. This letter provides additional information about this.
Your meter cupboard was not ready for new meters
Meter cupboards must meet certain guidelines in order for the meters to be installed. At the time we wanted to install your meters, your meter cupboard did not meet these guidelines. We were therefore unable to install the new meters at your property.
Have you modified your meter cupboard? Please send photos of your meter cupboard by no later than <datum>
We will assess the photos you provide to see whether the new meters can be installed at your property. This will enable us to make the necessary preparations. If you are unsure what modifications need to be made to your meter cupboard, please still take photos and send them to us together with your details. We will email you back with an explanation of the required modifications.
How do you send your photos and details to us?
- Take photos of your meter cupboard
Go to liander.nl/fotometerkast or scan the QR code. Here you will find tips for taking the right photos and the guidelines for meter cupboards. It helps us if the photos are taken correctly. - Upload the photos
Upload the photos and fill in your details. Once you have sent the photos you will receive a response within 5 working days.
Possible reimbursement for modification costs
Have you modified your meter cupboard and did you incur costs for this work? If so, these costs may be reimbursed. We will reimburse the costs incurred up to a maximum of €300, including VAT. Do you want to find out if you qualify for this reimbursement? There are 2 options available to you:
- Send receipts if you have modified the meter cupboard yourself If you have made the modifications yourself, we will need you to provide a breakdown and the receipts for the materials purchased, e.g. wood or other building materials. The cost of drill bits and tools will not be reimbursed.
- Send the invoice if you have had your meter cupboard modified by a tradesperson If you have had the modifications carried out by a fitter, carpenter or handyman, we will need you to provide a copy of the invoice. It is important that the invoice includes a breakdown of the materials and costs of the work.
Costs are always reimbursed after the work has been done
Contact us to request a reimbursement. You can do this by replying to the email that you receive from us after providing your photos and details. Please send the above-mentioned receipts or invoice with your reply, together with your name, address and IBAN.
Good to know!
We will install smart meters. If you do not want your meter to be read remotely, you can deactivate the read-out function easily yourself on Mijn Liander (My Liander) after installation. You can reactivate the read-out function at a later date if you want to.
Would you prefer not to have a smart meter? If so, please inform the contractor who contacts you to make an appointment. A meter without a read-out function will be installed in this case.

What happens if you do not take up our offer by <date>?
And if you request smart meters at a later date? In this case the installation will no longer be free of charge. You will pay €72.60 for the work. In addition, you will no longer be entitled to a possible reimbursement for modifying your meter cupboard.
