Disconnection of gas and electricity

Dear Customer,

Today we are disconnecting your energy supply. We are taking this action because you are using energy that you are not paying for. In this letter we explain what you can expect.

Entering into an energy contract is mandatory

All energy consumers have to enter into a contract with an energy supplier of their choice. As you have been using energy without paying for it for some time now, we unfortunately have to disconnect your energy supply.

Your supply is being disconnected

We recently sent you several letters informing you that your supply would be disconnected if you did not enter into a contract with an energy supplier. Unfortunately, you have not yet taken this action. We are therefore now disconnecting your energy supply. Once we have done so, your gas and electricity connection will no longer work. You can read about what will happen now below.

  • The engineer is not authorised to make decisions about disconnections and is required to disconnect your supply.
  • The engineer will visit to disconnect the gas and electricity supply inside your home. To do so, he will need access to your property. You are obliged to grant such access.
  • This work will be carried out today.
  • If we are unable to disconnect the gas and electricity meter in your home, because you will not allow us inside for example, your file will be passed on to a bailiff. A charge is payable in this case.

You can no longer object against this decision

It is not possible to lodge an objection against this decision with the engineer or to postpone the disconnection. Was your energy contract terminated because you were no longer able to pay? In that case contact an energy supplier of your choice as soon as possible. Inform this supplier that you have already been disconnected and need help setting up a new contract. When we can reconnect you

We can only reconnect you if you enter into an energy contract with an energy supplier. Your energy supplier will notify us as soon as you have entered into a contract. Only once we have received this notification can we reconnect your supply. You can apply for reconnection at www.liander.nl/aansluitingen/aansluiting-tijdelijk-afsluiten-of-heraansluiten/aanvragen-heraansluiting. There is a reconnection charge, which will be billed to you. Contact our customer service team if you need to set up a payment arrangement for the reconnection. Once payment has been made, we will call you within five working days to  make an appointment.
