you currently don’t have a supply contract for electricity and gas

No supply contract

According to our information, you currently don’t have a supply contract for electricity and/or gas. Legally, Liander is required to cut off energy supplies in case no supply contract is registered in the nationwide system. You can avoid being cut off by signing a contract with an energy supplier as soon as possible (within 5 days).

Liander is the network company that manages electricity and gas in your area. We are responsible for the connection and transport of energy to your building. For the delivery of electricity and gas you need a contract with another company, a so called energy supplier. In the Netherlands you can chose between about 50 different energy suppliers.

You don’t have a contract registered

According to our information, you currently don’t have a supply contract for electricity and/or gas at the address mentioned in your letter.

You remain responsible for an energy supply contract

We want to inform you that you remain responsible for your energy supply contract. You can chose your energy supplier yourself. More information about the suppliers you can chose from you can find on consuwijzer.nl or consumentenbond.nl. These are independent websites.

This is how Liander knows you have an energy contract

When you sign an energy contract, your supplier will inform us using a nationwide database. Please take in account that your supplier may need a couple of days to process your application. We therefore strongly advise you to contact a supplier by phone and request an emergency registration.

In case you don’t sign a contract

In case you don’t sign an energy supply contract, Liander is required to cut off your energy supplies. If in the future you want to be connected again, you still need to sign a contract with a supplier. This requires a re-connection fee. More information about these costs you can find here.

Action Plan

If you prefer, you can follow the steps mentioned below to avoid being cut off.

  • Step 1: Contact an energy supplier to check the status of your registration (in case you already signed a contract). If you don’t have a supplier yet, find and sign a contract with an energy supplier as soon as possible. We strongly advise you to contact a supplier by phone and request an emergency registration.
  • Step 2: Contact us to make sure we have received confirmation from your supplier, 3 days after your application.
