Upgrading your energy meters

We have had a relationship with you for a long time, but we do not yet know one another well.  So, it is high time we introduced ourselves. We are your grid operator. We lay cables and piping and operate the energy grid in your region. Your meter cabinet is connected to it. We are not an energy supplier, but make it possible for them to supply you with energy. You do not usually notice us. You turn on the light or the heating. We ensure that it works, and have been doing so for over 100 years. As we want to continue doing so in the future. We now have to take action.

The next step is in your meter cabinet

Normally we can do everything ourselves, but this time we need your help. The next step to be taken is in fact in your meter cabinet. Your energy meters are out of date and not ready for the future. In the near future we would therefore like to fit a new electricity and gas meter in your property; the smart energy meters. We need one hour (sometimes two) of your time for this.

Added value of new energy meters

  • With the new energy meters we will be even better able to guarantee a strong and reliable energy grid. For example faults are found and resolved more quickly.
  • You get a better understanding of your energy consumption, because each month you receive a statement from your energy supplier with your consumption. You can then avoid surprises in your annual bill. A better understanding also leads to more aware energy consumption and that in turn is good for your wallet and the environment.
  • Submitting meter readings is a thing of the past. We read these remotely.
  • Your meter cabinet is ready for the future. Ready for variable tariffs, buying from different energy suppliers and feeding in energy e.g. if you fit solar panels.

Contractor SmartInstall will be visiting you.

We have asked our contractor SmartInstall to fit the smart meters in your property free of charge. The fitter checks your energy connection directly and carries out any maintenance necessary. Two weeks before his visit you will receive a letter with a time at which he will visit you. If this proposal does not work for you, you can change the appointment.

Will you send us photos of your meter cabinet?

If you send us photos of both meter connections (gas and electricity), we can make a good estimate of the work and complete this in one visit. The example photos below show what must be visible in the photos. We would like to receive the photos within 7 days after receipt of this letter at the following email address: meterkast@liandermeters.nl. Please indicate in the subject of your e-mail your post code and house number.

Are you renting the property?

If you yourself have a contract with an energy supplier, and as a result automatically with us as grid manager, then you as tenant can decide yourself whether to have the new energy meters fitted. If this is not the case, then please consult the landlord of the building.
